Haiti: `The world doesn't have any idea how bad this situation is getting'

Fast Facts on Haiti

Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere.  The unemployment rates are hanging between 65-75% with a minimum wage of only $1.50 per day.

Currently 4,000 to 6,000 infants are born HIV-positive in Haiti.  Approximately 30,000 Haitians died last year of AIDS-related causes.  74 out of each 1,000 live births die before their first birthday.

More than one-third of school-aged children do not have the chance to attend school.  In many areas the schools have no chairs or desks and students must sit on bare ground.
Welcome to the Haiti's Children Relief Project, Inc.
Haiti's Children Relief Project 2009 Campaign

Haiti’s Children Relief Project, Inc. is a Massachusetts-based charitable organization focusing on promoting a better quality of life for the deprived children of Haiti by providing nutritional, health and educational assistance.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 by August 30 to finance our pilot program consisting of helping deprived Haitian families and orphanage centers and assist with preparation for the start of the school year at the end of September. Nearly 35% of school aged children are not able to attend school this year due to a lack of resources to meet their basic needs; we believe we can give a hand to bring a little hope to a child.

Haiti is on the edge of chaos with a wide spread unemployment, 75% of the population do not have jobs, 7% of adults are HIV-positive and an estimated 31,000 Haitians every year from AIDS-related causes. Our objective is to provide food, clothing and educational assistance to the most disadvantaged families.

We are accepting donations of clothes, shoes, pencils, pens, notebooks and computer equipment, etc. We also need volunteers to participate in this campaign. We count on your friendship and your generosity to make this project a success.

Ike's floods kill dozens, cut off aid to parts of Haiti

Last year, in a space of 2 weeks, Haiti has been affected by three consecutive hurricanes making the situation of the people on the island worse.  Your donation will help to assist the victims with food, clothing and other basic necessities.  All donations will be used exclusively for the Children's program.
