First steps:

Before you do anything else, make sure the system is functioning properly. Start the computer and check to see that all of the connected pieces are working, including the monitor, keyboard, and mouse.   Make sure your phone line is plugged into the modem in your computer, and that your phone is giving you a clear dial tone.  If the computer is not functioning properly, advise the customer that you can fix it and the price is $59.99.

WINDOWS XP DIALUP CONFIGURATION



Click on START and then Control Options.

Double click on Network Connections.



Click on Create a new connection under Network Tasks.



Click Next.



Select Connect to the Internet and then click Next



Select Set up my connection manually and then click Next.



Select Connect using a dial-up modem and then click Next.



Type Town Computer as the ISP Name and then click Next.



Enter your local dialup number and click Next.



Select Anyone's use button



In the User name enter your user name that you selected when you signed up
In the Password field enter your password.
Enter your password again in the Confirm password field and click Next.



Check the box next to Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop.
Click Finish.
