Create a hyperlink to a page
or file in a web
You can create a hyperlink to a destination
such as a page or file in a web. When a site
visitor clicks the hyperlink, the destination is
displayed in the Web browser. For example, you
can create hyperlinks from your home page to the
other pages in the web. Or, create a hyperlink
to a GIF picture.
- In Page view, type the text you want to
use as a hyperlink and then select it. For
example, type and select "My
Interests" to link to a page that
describes your hobbies.
Or, if you want to use the title of the
destination page (for example, Home Page) or
location of the file (for example, http://localhost/filename)
as the hyperlink text, position the
insertion point where you want to insert the
hyperlink.
- Click Hyperlink
.
- Navigate to the web in which the
destination page or file is located, and
then select the page or file.
Tip If the
destination page or file is in the current web,
click the page or file in the Folder List, and
then drag it to the open page where you want the
hyperlink.
MS Frontpage help
A
Frame page
A frame page is a
special kind of HTML page that divides the
browser window into different areas called
frames, each of which can display a different
page. When you click a hyperlink on a page
displayed in one frame, the page pointed to by
that hyperlink can be displayed in another
frame.
The frames page
itself contains no visible content: It's just a
container that specifies which other pages to
display and how to display them.
When you create a
frames page using one of the frames page
templates in FrontPage, the navigation between
frames is already set up for you. In the
Contents frames page template, for example,
clicking a hyperlink in the Contents frame on
the left displays a page in the Main frame
(called the target frame) on the right.
- On the File
menu, point to New, click Page,
and then click the Frames Pages
tab.
- Click a frames
page template.
Tip
When you click a template, FrontPage
displays a thumbnail showing that template's
frames layout in the Preview
area. It also displays a summary and
suggested use of the template in the Description
area.
Notes
- After you've
created a frames page, you must set
the initial page to display in each frame
when the frames page is viewed in a browser.
Otherwise, the browser will display empty
frames.
- You can create
your own custom frames page templates,
add them to the Frames Pages
tab, and share them with your workgroup.
- You can also
create a frames page by importing a frames
page from the World Wide Web or your
corporate intranet. This imports only the
frames page, not the pages initially
displayed in each frame.
