Basic Computer Training Objectives

The Basic Computer Training Program is designed to help  individuals to become comfortable working in a Windows environment by utilizing MS Office Products.  Successful completion of this program will enable the individual to create and design Word documents, create PowerPoint presentations and understand the basic concepts of an electronic spreadsheet.

The program is free for member of Townlinks Internet Service; there is a $90 registration fee for non-members.

All students are required to provide two pictures and fee of $15 for a Student ID Card.

Part I:  Essentials of Microsoft Word

    1.)  Introduction to MS Word, Essential concept of word processing.

    2.)  Creating, saving and retrieving documents

    3.)  Spell check, thesaurus and grammar check 

    4.)  Editing and formatting techniques

    5.)  Enhancing documents using MS Office, the Internet and WWW

    6.)  Advanced features of Word

Part II:  Introduction to Microsoft Excel

    1.)  Concept of electronic spreadsheets

    2.)  Copying and formatting spreadsheets

    3.)  'What if' statements

Part III:  Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint

    1.)  Creating, formatting and designing presentations

    2.)  Running and timing slideshows
